Municipal Educational Institution "Center of Martial Arts" was founded in October 1994. In November 2003, the opening ceremony of the new building of the Center, which was attended by: State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov, the legend of Russia sport Vyacheslav Fetisov and Alexander Karelin, the governor of the Vologda region Vyacheslav Pozgalyov and other guests - took place.

Having no analogues not only in Russia but also in Europe the sport complex, built specifically for the martial arts, has become not only an ornament but also the pride of the city of Cherepovets. On the basice of The Center of Martial Arts there are almost all the martial arts Federations of Vologda region, 6 development centers of martial arts of the Northwest Federal District of Russia and 2 All-Russia Centers. For the first time 15 specialized halls, several gyms, a center of sport and eastern medicine, a powerful methodical complex equipped with modern facilities, a design studio, a museum of sport glory, a conference hall, educational classrooms are located under one roof. This institution has became a center of gravity of athletes and coaches from across the country.

Every year dozens of sport events including the All-Russia level championships, competitions, Cup of Russia in various forms of martial arts, which attract athletes from all regions of Russia take place at the Center for Martial Arts. International tournaments and seminars with the participation of the grand masters of the world level for different types of martial arts are held here.

In 2009 our Center of martial arts, where 15 types of martial arts are taught in 15 rooms, celebrated its 15 years old. The Center employs over 50 highly qualified coaches masters of combat sports and deals with more than 2,5 thousand people.

Martial Arts Center - a "Home of Champions", which nurtured many champions of Russia, Europe and the world, real masters of martial arts. It's a house where there is a spirit of honor, ruled by a cult of strength and kindness, wisdom and generosity. The doors of The House of Champions are open to all who are willing with his open heart to strive to achieve the heights of spirit and body, to embark on the Great Way of comprehension of world harmony.
